Seungchul Kim received Ph. D. degree in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from Seoul National University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, in 2009. He joined Korea Institute of Science and Technology in 2012, after finishing his post doc at University of Pennsylvania, USA. He conducted researches on structural and electronic properties of low-dimensional carbon materials (CNT and graphene, and their derivatives), surface of oxides and metals, and oxide catalysts, mostly using density functional theory calculations. He is currently doing researches on solar cell and anode of lithium-ion battery to improve their performances.
